Seventy children currently living in the shelter welcomed the guests with a "grape surprise". It was arranged as a charity donation by the head of the region, Igor Bondarenko, and the founder of the Chateau Chizay winery, Hennadiy Hutman.

Thus, several hundred kilograms of high-quality grape will be delivered to the children’s homes of the region. Recently, several boxes were delivered to wards of the regional children’s specialized pulmonary sanatorium "Malyatko" located in the village of Onokivtsi in Uzhgorod district, and the regional children’s shelter located in the town of Batyevo, Beregovo district.

The hosts of the Good Samaritan shelter conducted a short tour and told about their everyday life. The history of this unique institution begins with a Dutch charity, which established a church orphanage in Velyka Dobron. The ownership of the two-storeyed building was transferred to the Transcarpathian Reformed Church.

The shelter employs more than 40 workers. All funds and humanitarian assistance come from charities from the Netherlands and the United States.

Currently, there are 70 children in the shelter, uncluding 17 with disabilities. There are children as young as 2 years old, and one disabled woman is 35 years old.

The shelter is for orphans ans people with disabilities.

Some children go to the local high school, others study at the lyceum and have many opportunities for self-fulfillment. Excursions are regularly organized for them. Volunteers often visit the shelter to look after the children, the press service of the RSA reported.
