The head coach of Uzhgorod "Goverla" Vyacheslav Grozny said that he had drafted the calendar, under which Uzhgorod club suggests to start the second part of the season not before March. Also, the management of "Goverla" believe that the FFU, the Premier League and the elite division clubs should consider expanding the top division to 16 clubs.
– In my opinion, we should consider returning to the format of Ukraine Championship with 16 teams. No one leaves the Premier League, but two teams from the first division join. I also think that it makes sense to consider such draft of the calendar, where the championship of Ukraine resumes not before mid-March. "Goverla" proposes this initiative and encourages all members of the football management of our country to study this issue. It will be better if the teams play in European competition first, then matches of the quarter-finals of the Cup of Ukraine will be held, and then, on March 13-14, the Championship of Ukraine will resume from the 15th round.
After the draw of the Champions League, we could have approved this calendar, because before that we had not known the dates of "Shakhtar" matches in the Champions League. There is no point in making the teams play in February on bad fields. There is still time to discuss this calendar – for February and March. And for April and May, we can plan it on the basis of the results of our clubs’ matches in European competition. In this case, the interests of all teams will be taken into account, including the national team, which plays an important match against Spain. Soon we will officially submit that more detailed draft calendar for discussion in the football society – Grozny said.
