On September 14-17, the largest beer festival in Transcarpathia – "Varosh beer" – will be held in Mukachevo, the press service of the Mukachevo city council informs.
It was in Mukachevo, where in 1701, in the Pidhoriany neighborhood, Ferenc Rakoczy II established the first brewery in the territory of modern Ukraine.
Only craft beer brewed in Transcarpathia will be presented at the festival. This was the idea of the festival "Varosh beer" – to restore the ancient and famous traditions of brewing of Transcarpathia.
This year the festival will feature products of the top ten craft breweries of Transcarpathia. They are already brewing beer for the festival, including a special variety – "Festival".
During the festival, there will be beer olympic games with various contests and competitions.
Also, there will be performances of Transcarpathian bands and folk groups of the region.
A playground will be arranged for children, where a theatrical performance with theater actors, games, contests, fun, quizzes will take place.
The festival will be officially opened on Friday, September 15, by the mayor Andriy Baloha, who will open a barrel of a specially brewed festival beer and pour the first mug.
The festival camp will be open daily from 11:00 to 21:00.
