Google maps service did not help Russians outsmart border guards

Over the past weekend, border guards of the Chop detachment detained migrants from the former Soviet Union.

As a result of search measures, at 300 meters away from the border with Slovakia, border guards arrested a man and a woman without documents.

The young people turned out to be spouses, they said that they were nationals of the Russian Federation, but could not support this claim with documents. Also, the detainees reported that each of them was 25 years old, and they planned an illegal journey to the EU for employment purposes. In this respect, Austria seemed the most attractive for them. By the way, in order to plan their route bypassing the checkpoint, the Russians used the Google maps internet service.

The offenders were brought to the border service station "Uzhgorod" to clarify the circumstances of the offense and make administrative and procedural documents. Their further fate and responsibility under the law will be determined by the court.
