From Egypt to Slovakia… Unsuccessfully

A foreigner, who wanted to illegally cross the Ukrainian-Slovak border, was detained by officers of the Chop detachment this morning, the press service informs.

The border guards of the "Uzhgorod" department detected the offender during patrolling. The latter was trying to overcome the engineering barrier, when he was stopped by the law enforcement officers. At the moment of his detention, he was only 20 meters away from the state border. The man, who did not have any documents on him, at first said that he was a Syrian. Later, the border guards managed to find out that he was in fact a citizen of Egypt. Also, the border guards found out that the man was moving to the border directly from the city of Uzhgorod using a GPS navigator.

After carrying out the necessary procedural activities, the illegal migrant was taken to the temporary detention center of the Chop border guard detachment. Law enforcers have to identify the offender, after which he will be brought to administrative liability under Part 1 of Article 204-1 of the CAO "Illegal crossing or attempt to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine."
