For preservation and restoration: public utility “Castles of Transcarpathia” will be establishe in Transcarpathia

It is planned that the public utility will be promoting the implementation of activities for the conservation, restoration, research of the castles of Transcarpathia

 This was stated during the meeting of the Standing Committee on Education, Science, Culture, Spirituality, Youth Policy, Physical Culture, Sports, National Minorities and Information Policy of the Transcarpathian Regional Council, the press service of the Regional Council reported.

Oksana Babunych, the Director of the Department of Culture of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, emphasized the need for priority measures to preserve the castles in Transcarpathia. First of all, it concerns the Nevytsky castle of the XIV century, located in Kamyanytsia village of Uzhgorod district, which is the property of the region. To implement measures for conservation, restoration, research of the castle, organization of excursion activities on its territory, it is necessary to establish the public utility "Castles of Transcarpathia".

Subsequently, the public utility can take other castles of the region, that do not have owner or that are not kept in proper condition by the owners. The committee members identified the architectural monuments, which require immediate attention. In particular, those are the ancient castles: in Khust, the villages of Kvasovo, Dovhe, Korolevo and others, which have historical and scientific value.
