For illegal deforestation in Transcarpathia disciplinary charges were brought against 19 people

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has completed several official investigations into cases of illegal felling of trees in Transcarpathia. 19 officials of the West Regional Office and the Chop detachment were brought to justice under the law. This was announced today, the 20th of August, by representatives of the State Border Guard Service, the replyua.net informs.
Back on the 7th of April this year, the State Border Guard Service informed all the relevant investigating authorities, directly the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Interior Ministry, of the recorded illegal felling of trees near the border in Transcarpathia. The military prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case on April 14, and two weeks later, four heads of departments of the Chop border guard detachment were notified of being suspected", – the border guards reported. 
As a result of the investigations, 19 officials were brought to disciplinary responsibility for failure to respond. According to the State Border Guard Service, 7 of them were fired. 2 people were deprived of the military ranks. Another two were demoted.
