European diplomats have promised to support Ukraine on the path to European integration

On Friday, March 21, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Valeriy Lunchenko met with representatives of the consular offices of the Member States of the European Union bordering to Ukraine. The meeting was attended by diplomats from Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Romania and the Czech Republic.
During the meeting, they discussed a number of important issues, including the acceleration of the European integration process of Ukraine, implementation of visa facilitation, development of border crossing points on the border of Transcarpathian region. 
– Today in Brussels, the political package of the Association Agreement with the EU was signed – Valeriy Lunchenko. said – We are grateful for the support of the European countries that support Ukraine’s course. In Transcarpathian region there already are many positive developments in cross-border cooperation, which we will continue and increase.
The head of the RSA also thanked the EU representatives for their help in the treatment and rehabilitation of Ukrainians affected during clashes on the Maidan.   
The Consul General of Hungary in Uzhgorod Jozsef Bacskai congratulated Ukraine on the signing of the political part of the Association Agreement, promised complete support from Hungary and condemned the aggression of Russia, the attack on the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Regarding the position of the Slovak Republic, the Consul General Janka Burianova said that Slovakia was open to cooperation with Ukraine in general and with Transcarpathia in particular. Hospitals in Slovakia take the victims from the Maidan, the country is ready to continue to provide all necessary assistance.
The Polish party stressed on strengthening the economic, cultural and social ties, as well as the possibility of opening crossing points on the border to Transcarpathian region. Also, the Consul of the General Consulate of Poland Marian Orlikowski said that to achieve European integration, today Ukraine first of all must get rid of corruption at all levels – to prevent political, economic corruption.
Valeria Fuleova, the Consul of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Lviv expressed hope for further close cooperation with Transcarpathian region to support the Czech community of the region, as well as Transcarpathians that today live in the Czech Republic.
In conclusion, Valeriy Lunchenko said that Ukraine, whose geographical location is Europe, aims to become a full member of the European Union. The support from neighboring EU Member States is a very important part in this process.
