On December 8, in Uzhgorod central city library (Voloshin st., 20), there will be the presentation of the book "Millennial Tree" by Viktor Shostak – historian, ethnomusicologist, lead researcher of the Transcarpathia instrumental music, musician, manager of the folklore-ethnographic ensemble "Uzhgorod".
The book contains unique facts about the unity of music and lyrics in Transcarpathian folklore, about musical instruments and musical communication in herding traditions of the region, about the types of Transcarpathian folk instrumental ensembles, about the role of folk musical instruments in traditional local ceremonies of Rusyns-Ukrainian, Hungarians, Romanians, who, having a long common history, continue to nurture the millennial tree of knowledge – the Uzhgorod central city library announced.
