Epidemic situation in Transcarpathia is worsening, the number of patients with acute respiratory infections has more than doubled

During the week (as of Friday, February 1), 8 thousand 281 people were admitted to the medical institutions of Transcarpathia with symptoms of acute respiratory viral infection (ARVI), which is 52 percent more than during the previous seven days. The incidence rate is 657 per 100 thousand people and exceeds the epidemic threshold by 21%.
65 percent of all patients are children under the age of 17, 73 percent of which are children aged 5 to 14 years old. The geography of the highest incident rates among children is Svalyava, Rakhiv, Mukachevo districts and the city of Mukachevo.
The epidemic thresholds are exceeded in Volovets district 6 times, in Mizhhirya district – 2 times, in Uzhgorod district – by 42%, in Vynogradiv district – by 56%, in Velyky Berezny district – by 19%.
Quarantine was extended for a week at schools in the city of Uzhgorod, Uzhgorod district, some educational institutions of Volovets district, as well as schools of Vynogradiv, Mizhhirya, Irshava, Velyky Berezny, Beregovo and Rakhiv districts. In the schools of Tyachiv district, holidays were extended until February 8.
