Easter safety rules from rescuers

Soon, Ukrainians will be celebrating the holiday of the Christ’s Resurrection, or Easter. It is one of the most important Christian holidays, which is associated not only with worship and consecration of Easter food, but also with mass use of open flames, in particular candles and icon-lamps.

Therefore, to avoid tragedies on Easter the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region appeals to citizens asking to remember fire safety rules during the coming holidays.

At home, while cooking Easter cake and other festive dishes, be careful when using gas and electrical appliances to avoid fire in the kitchen. During the liturgy in the church, keep a safe distance from other parishioners, carefully tie the hair with a scarf and put a piece of paper or handkerchief under a candle to protect yourself from the hot wax. In Easter basket, candle should be placed in such a way that the flame does not touch plastic or the basket itself. Always keepy small children away from open flame because they may harm themselves and provoke fire. And finally, after returning home from church, put a candle in a fireproof candle stick away from flammable items. By following these simple rules, you will protect yourself and your family from a devastating fire.
