Soon, we will be able to cross the Uzh on foot, because the river is gradually turning into a stream. This was reported by the Zakarpatpost.

Stones are visible between the Masaryk Bridge and the pedestrian bridge. 70 percent of the river on this stretch has turned into dry land. The water is very shallow, the depth is just a few centimeters and only in pits.

The channel has also become narrow and is no more than 5 meters wide, so traditional "Regattas" hardly can take place here.

This is the result of massive deforestation in Transcarpathia, environmentalists say. After all, during the last decades, it has reached a critical level. And if it does not stop in the near future, Transcarpathia may lose half of the rivers.
