The Chop border guard detachment informs that in recent days, there has been a significant increase in the number of people leaving Ukraine through the checkpoints "Tisa" and "Uzhgorod". This situation arose because our compatriots are going back to the countries of Europe, where they live or work, after Easter holidays. According to the statistics, the number of persons and vehicles leaving Ukraine has risen by an average of 20 percent, which is up to 1,000 people at each checkpoint.
On their part, the border guards of the Chop detachment are taking all measures to accelerate the flow of operations. During the last day, five working meetings and a series of telephone conversations with the Slovak and Hungarian sides were held. Senior officials at the border crossing points agreed to speed up clearance procedures and simplify border and customs formalities. At the checkpoints "Tisa" and "Uzhgorod", additional personnel was employed.
At the same time, the border guards ask to be understanding about the situation, and, if possible, to choose other routes of international traffic or postpone non-urgent trips.
