The police, under the procedural control of the prosecutor’s office, conducted a series of investigative and operational measures and found a group of three people suspected of sales of psychotropic substances in Uzhgorod. The searches were conducted within a criminal proceeding under Part 2 of Art. 307 of the CCU, ie illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, delivery or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues, committed repeatedly or by prior conspiracy by a group of persons. Such an offense is punishable by imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with the confiscation of property.
On May 31 and June 1, a joint investigation team conducted searches in two houses in Uzhgorod and in a village in Perechyn district. In the regional center, the searches were conducted in the houses of a 45-year-old organizer and his 36-year-old accomplice. In addition to a large amount of money, drugs and packaging, the police found in two houses drug dens with 19 men inside. All of them were tested for the state of intoxication. Law enforcers also found drugs in the house of a 37-year-old man in Perechyn district. The police sent the found marijuana and methamphetamine for examination.
All the suspects were previously convicted of drug-related crimes. The investigation continues.
