“Double bottom” did not help a Hungarian to smuggle cigarettes

During the customs control in the train "Chop-Zahony" moving from Ukraine, Transcarpathian customs officers found 103 packs of cigarettes on a citizen of Hungary.

The foreigner tried to smuggle tobacco products, including: "Rothmans", "Lifa menthol", "Compliment super Slims", "Monte Carlo Fresh" et al. under the lining of a travel bag with his personal effects.

Thus, the citizen of Hungary was carrying cigarettes across customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control, using methods that hinder identification of the goods. These actions have signs of violation of customs regulations under Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.

Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, the tobacco products worth more than 1280 UAH were seized.

Note that under Part. 1 of Art. 318 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, all goods, vehicles for commercial use being transported across the customs border of Ukraine shall be subject to customs control.
