Another firetruck based on Iveco Magirus was added to the motor park of the church’s volunteer fire brigade of the village of Dertsen in Mukachevo district. This was reported by the Rescue Service of Transcarpathia.
This became possible with the assistance of the community of the reformist church and the volunteer fire brigade of the city of Horn (Switzerland).
Seven Swiss specialists headed by the president of the fire service of the Thurgau Canton (Switzerland), Ralph Hier, came to hand the keys to the firetruck to the head of the fire brigade, Mykola Zhukovsky, and to conduct special training on the use of equipment for local rescuers.
According to the first deputy head of the State Emergencies Service Office in the region Volodymyr Tsitsey, in contrast to European countries, where there are volunteer fire brigades in each community, in Ukraine this area has just begun to develop. The Dertsen fire brigade can become an example for other communities in Transcarpathian region in terms of ensuring fire safety of settlements and prompt response to natural and man-made emergency situations.
