Depardieu has officially become a Russian citizen

In accordance with the presidential decree, French actor Gerard Depardieu officially became a citizen of Russia. This, with reference to the press service of the Kremlin, was reported by the Ukrainska Pravda.

As you know, Depardieu changed the French citizenship to the Belgian in connection with the introduction of a 75% tax on income over a million euros in his home country.

Later, the media reported that Depardieu can receive the Russian citizenship. The very next day, Russian President Putin said that if Depardieu was willing to receive a Russian passport, he would receive it. However, the Federal Migration Service reported that the actor had not submitted requests for residence permit or citizenship.
