Denys Man believes that this year Transcarpathia can take one million tourists

The Director of the Economic Development and Trade Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Denys Mann gave a long interview for the ukrinform.ua, in which he said that this year the region was going to set the record: they plan to take 1 million tourists.

The features of this year’s tourist season in Transcarpathia, according to the official, will be hot waters, mountains and tasty food.

– The mountains and thermal pools are the most popular among tourists. New thermal pools are being opened in the region, it is noteworthy that each of the pools has unique water chemistry, which, consequently, has different therapeutic effects. Currently, new attractions for tourists have been developed: rides in jeeps and quads, hiking or horse riding in the mountains, rafting down the mountain rivers. Transcarpathia is also attractive because of various historical, entertainment, culinary festivals taking place in major cities every week. Gastronomic tours, by the way, are at the peak of popularity in the region.

Traditionally our guests look for delicious bograch and banosh, as well as lecho, rokot potatoe, tokan, dumplings, hurka, stuffed cabbage, as well as the famous Transcarpathian cheese.

Denys Man also named top 5 places in Transcarpathia that every tourist has to visit this summer:

– For those, who are looking for active leisure in Transcarpathia, I recommend to climb the highest peak of Transcarpathia and Ukraine – Goverla. Thermal and mineral Transcarpathia (Lumshory-Kosyno-Svalyava-Shayan) – for those who come for relaxation and recovery. If you want to take a break from the city, go to the Old Village in Kolochava. It is a village of ten museums, a unique place presenting culture, history, life, cuisine of different nations and different periods. Be sure to visit the Synevyr lake, castles in Uzhgorod, Mukachevo and Chynadiyevo. Also, I advise you to plan a trip to the festival Hamora 2016 in Irshava district, Lemko bonfire in Perechyn district and the Czech beer festival in Mizhhirya district.
