Debaltseve 3 years later (ANNOUNCEMENT)

Tomorrow, on Friday, February 16, the film "Debaltseve" will be screened on Teatralna Square in Uzhgorod from 19.00 to 22.00, the press service of Uzhgorod city council informed.

Recall that February 18 marks the 3rd anniversary of the heroic and tragic retreat of Ukrainian troops from Debaltseve. From January 15 to February 18, 2015, the most fierce battles with Russian and terrorist groups took place at the bridgehead near this city. Then, over 2.5 thousand Ukrainian soldiers left their positions near the city in Donetsk region and retreated to the northwest.   A lot of Transcarpathians became the heroes of the events near Debaltseve, our fellow countrymen gave their lives to protect Ukraine’s independence.

The Movement to support Transcarpathian soldiers invites to come and honor the memory of the heroes: "On February 17, we commemorate all those, who perished in the battles for Debaltseve and rejoice with all, who came back home. The gathering is at 10.00, on Teatralna Sq. in Uzhgorod. We invite everyone to go to the Hill of Glory and honor our Heroes!" – the information posted on the Facebook page of the Movement reads.
