Dances of the world flooded the main library of the region

On April 29, on the International Day of Dance, the regional library organized for Uzhgorod residents a cultural and entertaining event "Dance like no one can see you." For the first time, library visitors had the opportinuty to have a live communication with representatives of the national cultures of India, Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Zimbabwe and other countries. During the dance holiday, dances of different nations were demonstrated and master classes for all comers were conducted.

 

       Many people once gathered in the reading room for the event organized by the resource and information department of the library "Window to America". The host of the event Antonina Vakula, the head of this department, began the dancing show with a warm-up penguin dance and then invited to perform the youngest dance group – the Centre for creative development of children and adults "Zefirchyk-Zirati" (director-choreographer Tetiana Ardelyanova) who performed Ukrainian and Irish folk dances.     Choreographer Katerina Dykun and her pupils showed an inflammatory samba and conducted a master class on this dance.

         Participant of international oriental dance festivals Yuna Hrihorova impressed with plastic and precise movements in belly dancing, and tried to teach the audience how to do it. Adele Paquille (volunteer from France) and pupils of the school №14 in bright costumes entertained the audience with Gypsy folk dance. And then, the real fun began. The collective "Dancing Doctors" (Gabriel Anaman, Calvin Essel, Dumisani Mbiba, George Kuodza) performed a mix of national dances of Africa. And Joshua Uliogoga danced a Nigerian groom wedding dance. The real gem of the evening was Shravia Nimmala from India. Audience as if saw a scene of Indian cinema, as she danced a national dance of her country.  At the end of the event, choreographer Yuri Mocharko with his student surprised with foxtrot dance skills and proved that dance, like love, captivates and conquers people of all ages.

     Volodymyr Kostyuchenko captured emotions, dance atmosphere, smiles, moves and excellent mood of all participants of the event on photo and video .
