Criminals, who were robbing houses in Uzhgorod and Mukachevo, have been detained in Transcarpathia (PHOTOS)

This criminal group was operating during October-December last year. Its members are suspected of 14 thefts from apartments, the Mukachevo.net informs.

The perpertrators in all criminal acts have been identified. Two of them were detained immediately after they had committed a theft on Volodymyrska street in the regional center. And soon, the leader of the gang was arrested too.

As it turned out, the members of the criminal group are three men – two locals and one migrant from Donetsk, previously convicted of robbery and theft. After serving sentence, the 33-year-old resident of Donetsk moved to the regional center of Transcarpathia, where he formed a criminal group consisting of a 35-year-old resident of Uzhgorod, who once was brought to criminal responsibility for drug-related crimes, and a 33-year-old native of Mukachevo, who had problems with the law for property crimes.

The police started criminal proceedings over all 14 cases under Part 5 of Art. 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (theft committed by an organized group). The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of 7 to 12 years with confiscation of property.

All three members of the criminal group were notified of being suspected of committing criminal offenses. Two of them, at the request of the investigator, were taken into custody, the third one is under house arrest. The pre-trial investigation of the case continues.
