Under the procedural control of the Transcarpathian Prosecutor’s Office, investigators of the State Investigation Bureau and the Internal Security Directorate of the National Police in Transcarpathian region detained two police officers for taking bribes.
An inspector of the road safety department of the Patrol Police Office in Transcarpathian region was detained upon receipt of 7,500 UAH. The police officer demanded this amount for the approval of permits for outdoor advertising.
Another law enforcement officer – an inspector of the escort battalion of the Main Office of the National Police in Kyiv region – was detained upon receipt of 6,000 hryvnias. He demanded the money for assistance in issuance of driver’s licenses without taking driving courses and test.
Currently, primary investigative measures are being taken within the criminal proceedings with legal classifications under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The policemen were detained in accordance of Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine.
The choice of pre-trial restraint against the detainees is being decided.
