Cleanup in the Rock Garden: trees have been cleaned and… washed (Photofacts)

Today, when the world celebrates the Community Cleanup Day, massive community cleanups take place in Ukraine as part of the "Make Ukraine Clean" campaign. Uzhgorod is no exception. Active residents came to clean their hometown.

Thus, intellectuals and members of the "Public Convention" gathered in the rock garden in order to not only clean up one of the favorite holiday destinations in Uzhgorod, but also to do another important thing – to wash off whitewash of the trees. 

It’s no secret that regular whitewashing of trees with lime is a relic of the Soviet past and has no use. 

According to the participants of the cleanup, whitewash does not fit the atmosphere of the exquisite rock garden. So it was decided to wash it off, and return the authentic look to old plane trees and other beautiful trees that grow there.

Also, the participants of the campaign are removing numerous butts, bottle caps and other garbage that Uzhgorod residents do not bother to throw in the trash bins (although there are plenty of them in the park).

The cleanup is taking place in a fun, sincere atmosphere and with music.
