Christmas trees traditionally will be sold with chips, and there will be fines for illegal cutting

In Uzhgorod district, foresters and law enforcers will be counteracting illegal cutting of Christmas trees. Foresters have not yet begun selling Christmas trees, but they have already tightened protection. The trees for the main holiday of the year are grown in separate areas in Kamyanytsia forestry. The plantation of Christmas trees is located on the site of a former garden and covers the area of over half a hectare.

Along with harvesting of fir trees, the forestry enterprise tightens their protection. Raid crews made of foresters, law enforcement officers and representatives of the environmental inspectorate in Transcarpathian region have been formed, they will be guarding the coniferous plantations round the clock, looking for offenders on the roads. Big fines are provided for illegally cut fir trees, the state forest guard of Uzhgorod State Forestry warns.

To meet the demands of the district population, foresters and representatives of the district state administration and council will organize specially designated trade areas for wholesale and retail sale of Christmas trees.
