Chop border guards inform of changes in the legislation

On April 24, the Law of Ukraine N 1207-VII "On the rights and freedoms of citizens and legal regime for the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine", adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on April 15, 2014, came into force.

This law amends a number of legal documents.

Note the changes to Art. 202 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences (CAO), which is described as follows: "Violation of the border regime, the regime of checkpoints across the state border of Ukraine or regime rules in the ports of entry – exit shall be punishable by a fine of 7 to 10 tax-free minimum incomes on citizens, and 10 to 20 tax-free minimum incomes – on officials."

That is, there is no longer such penalty as "warning" for the stay in the border zone or controlled border area without documents, and the minimum amount of the fine was increased from 17 to 119 UAH, and in default of payment of the fine within the period specified in the law, the State Enforcement Service will charge double amount of the fine.
