Children’s railways opened the season. But not the Uzhgorod one

Children’s railways in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Lviv, Odesa, Rivne and Lutsk started working in early May.

This was announced on Monday by the press service of the Ukrainian Railways.

The uniqueness of children’s railways is that all the work (drivers, conductors, station chiefs, cashiers) is performed by children under the supervision of instructors.

Now students take the tests on the knowledge acquired during the school year.

In total, in Ukraine there are 8 children railways, including three in Lviv, two in the Dnieper, one in Donetsk, one in South-Western and one in the Southern Railway.

According to the press service of the "Ukrainian Railways", usually more than 80 per cent of children’s railways students continue their education in vocational schools, universities on railway specialities.       

Every year, more than 400 clubs of young railway workers operate on children’s railways, with more than 6.5 thousand students. 

Unfortunately, there is nothing on Uzhgorod "small" railroad in this piece of the Ukrainska Pravda.   So, we publish it, so to speak, for the inspiration of those who can bring our "Pioneer" narrow-gauge railway back to life, which could be a real joy for children and another highlight of the city.
