Charity swindlers

Due to the fact that with the onset of warm spring days, the number of various kinds of beggars on the streets has increased, the Labor and Social Protection Department of the executive committee of Mukachevo City Council has appealed to the residents of the city asking not to give alms to these people and not to enable swindlers who prey on our charity. This appeal can be addressed to all the inhabitants of Transcarpathia.

"Dear residents of Mukachevo!
The Labor and Social Protection of the executive committee of Mukachevo City Council would like to draw your attention to the fact that not all people, who ask for alms, really need help. This is especially true in regard to those claiming that they need money for the treatment of children. Last year, our specialists conducted numerous raids to detect such fraudsters. Instead of a few hryvnia, we offered such persons real assistance: a visit to a doctor, a consultation in the capital’s hospitals, official financial assistance of the total amount required. As a result, none of the dozens of crooks agreed to this. Moreover, most of them would immediately flee. As for those, whom we managed to detain and hand over to the police, it turned out that they either do not have any children and they used other people’s children photographs taken from social networks, or they do have children and they indeed are sick, but the disease is not serious and can be successfully treated in local hospitals for free.

Today, in our country there are many kinds of social benefits, and in Mukachevo there is a unique program "Advanced social and medical protection of residents of Mukachevo", whereunder seriously ill people receive from the city budget a lot of money for treatment.
In this regard, we ask you to be careful, not to enable fraudsters and not to let them make money on your good hearts!"
