Today, September 29, at the Uzhgorod City Council a working session of the Ukrainian and Polish colleagues within the CBC Programme Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2007-2013 was held. Under the program, the Fund of assistance from the EU, which sponsors the project, was created. Two cities – Krosno (Poland) and Uzhgorod and the village of Baranyntsi embarked on the implementation of the grant project "Partner delelopment of common tourist area on the basis of new sports and recreation activities for young people."

According to the tripartite agreement, 90% of the funding is provided by the Fund, 10% – by the city government. So by 2013 a modern cycling center, 2 large and 4 smaller bicycle parking lots should appear in Uzhgorod. The rest of the money will be spent for purchase of modern equipment and new bikes for the school.

According to Olga Travina – coordinator of the project in Uzhgorod – originally the cycling center was planned to be built at "Padiyun" complex but then it was moved to Bozdosh park.

In Baranyntsi a whole sports complex is planned to be built. The EU has allocated 220,000 euros to implement this plan. Yuri Marusyak, Baranyntsi village head, even demonstrated Polish colleagues initial sketches of the future sports complex.
