The first day of the celebration of Uzhgorod’s 1126th anniversary was very atmospheric: it started today in the "Owl’s Nest" with the celebration of 100th anniversary of the official name of the city.
A lecture about the first uses of the modern name of our city was held in a chamber, almost family atmosphere. Famous Transcarpathian writers told about the works featuring Uzhgorod and Uzhgorod residents. Goods and souvenirs with the name or symbols of Uzhgorod were presented at the fair in the courtyard of the "Owl’s Nest". People who produce goods under the brand "Uzhgorod" told their success stories. At the movie night, they showed the chronicle of the city’s history, and it will end with a party from the Radio Yeden. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the implementation of today’s project. But most of all, to the person without whom the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the official name of Uzhgorod would not have happened: journalist, author of the book "Lost Uzhgorod" Tetyana Literati. In the coming days, there will be many more interesting events for different tastes – for both children and adults, so I invite everyone to the celebration of the Day of Uzhgorod!
