Yesterday, January 19, in Transcarpathia, while taking operational and preventive measures "January-2017," border guards of the department "Luzhanka" of the Mukachevo detachment detained two citizens of Algeria.
After receiving information about possible illegal border crossing, border guards organized search operations, during which two people were detained. The men aged 27 and 28 were heading towards the Ukrainian-Hungarian border. The detainees told the officers of the State Border Service that they were citizens of Algeria and gave copies of their passports.
During the filtration measures, border guards found out that the foreigners had entered the territory of Ukraine legally a week ago and planned to get to one of the EU countries. The detainees were taken to Mukachevo border guard detachment.
The further fate of the travelers will be determined in court.
