Yesterday, border guards of the department "Huta" of the Chop detachment detained a Russian citizen who was moving in the direction of Ukraine’s border with Slovakia.
Border guards detected the man with the help of a local resident who informed the district inspector of the Border Guard Service about a stranger near the border.
While checking the received information, at about 700 meters from the state border, border guards found and arrested the unknown man. The man had no ID. The detainee explained that he was a citizen of Russia, a native of Chechnya. Moreover, the man began to explain that he had come to one of the local villages for work.
Currently, the detainee was taken to the detention center of the Chop border guard detachment for identification, clarification of all circumstances and drafting relevant procedural documents.
