Creative association "Black Square" is not only the improvisation theater studio, known for its clever performances, but also a successful training center, professional art agency, cinema production.
Since its founding in 1991 to the present day, "Black Square" has been existing solely on the enthusiasm of its founders and members!
Constant search, commitment to the poor theater without the dominance of sets, costumes, make-up – from Jerzy Grotowski. Variety art, dynamics – from Bertolt Brecht. The result is a living, real theater.
During the nineteen years, over 160 original and classic productions have been created, improvisational structure of the "Black Square" has been designed, wonderful ensemble cast has been formed.
The number of performances in the season of 2008-2009 is 88, including 52 on the Big Stage (hall for 600 persons) and 36 onthe Experimantal Stage (hall for 250 persons).
Kyiv improvisation theater studio "Black Square" is in Uzhgorod again!
