Bicycle commissaires will be introduced in Uzhgorod

The biggest problem is that cyclists are only slightly familiar with the traffic rules, if at all – the head of the traffic police in Uzhgorod Oleksiy Spivak said.

Often, drivers of two-wheelers become a problem on the road; for example, today an incident occurred on Stantsiyna street, where a motorist hit a cyclist on a pedestrian crossing, where, in fact, he had no right to ride.

But motorists have begun to consider cyclists and increasingly account for them and their features – such as the need to maneuver around pits on the road – the head of the city traffic police said.

Also, traffic regulation signs for cyclists have begun to appear the city, and finally there is the chance to begin works on creating bike lanes.

Bike events are designed to raise the culture of cycling. Thus, Night Ride is a model behavior of cyclists – Vitaliya Munchak, the organizer of the event said.  To ensure compliance with the traffic rules and culture, the institute of bicycle commissaires is introduced – cyclists who will monitor compliance with the rules by "two-wheeled" riders.
