Beware of fire! Extreme heat up to +37 ° in the region

Today’s heat is not yet the limit: from 6 to 9 of August 35-37 degrees of daytime temperature (except the mountains) is expected – the chief meteorologist of Transcarpathia told uzhgorod.in.

The head of the Transcarpathian Regional Centre for Hydrometeorology Vasyl Manivchuk confirmed that the heat would be extreme. At night, the temperature will drop to 18 degrees on the plains, and even to 7-12 in the mountains, so it will be more or less comfortable, but the days will be hot – he said.

He also said that rains are not expected – only short-term local ones and only in the mountains. "The rains are possible only on August 10-11, local and short termed, there may be some storm events," – Mr. Vasyl said, adding that in the mountains days will become cooler – up to 27 degrees. 

Transcarpathian Met Office has circulated warning of the fifth, the highest level of fire hazard. Vasyl Manivchuk warned that it is extreme danger, explaining that such high degree is rare and in case of fire there is a high probability of its spread.

So uzhgorod.in urges readers to be particularly careful about heat and do not ignore the advice of doctors who recommend simple, but very helpful things: avoid overheating: wear light loose clothing made of natural fabrics, avoid long exposure to the sun, drink plenty of fluids, repeatedly take a cool shower and take care of the diet – consider the freshness and lightness of food and, of course, pay special attention to children and people with chronic diseases such as those of heart and vascular system. Take care of yourself!
