Beregovo police officers, during the inspection of the house of a 23-year-old man, found and seized a sawn-off gun. A criminal proceeding was initiated over illegal posession of weapons.
Officers of Beregovo Police Department received the information that a 23-year-old resident of the district center, who had already been convicted, might be keeping banned objects at home.
Officers of the investigating team arrived at the man’s house. While checking the apartment on Muzhayska street in the city of Beregovo, law enforcers found in one of the rooms, inside the bed, an object similar to a sawn-off gun wrapped in sackcloth. The owner of the house refused to explain where he got the weapon from.
Law enforcement officers sent the seized gun for examination. The incident was registered in the Uniform Register of Pre-trial Investigations. The man is charged with an offense under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives). The investigation continues.
