Because of war in the Eastern Ukraine, a Georgian decided to flee to the EU

Yesterday, border guards of the Chop detachment prevented another attempt to illegally cross the Ukrainian-Slovak border.

A man without documents, who decided to enter Slovakia illegally, was detained by border guards of the "Velyky Berezny" department.  The "tourist" had no documents and told border guards that he was a citizen of Georgia and had come to Ukraine legally. For a while he lived and worked in Donetsk, but due to the escalation of the situation, he was forced to leave the region. Finding no possibility of employment in the capital of Ukraine, he went for broke – decided to get to Austria through Transcarpathia.

The offender was taken to the border guard unit to clarify the circumstances of the offense and to draft administrative and procedural documents. His further fate will be determined by the court.
