On February 12-13, due to snowfall and snowstorms, in the highlands of Transcarpathian region, the significant (III level) avalanche hazard will remain – the Transcarpathian Hydrometeorological Center reported.
To avoid tragical incidents, tourists should observe a number of rules. First of all, we insist on mandatory registration of all who climb in the Carpathians.
During the registration at mountain search and rescue points, you can receive current information about weather conditions in a certain area, avalanche hazard, and determine the best route. Also, you should prepare for a hike by taking: a charged mobile phone, an additional battery, a GPS navigator, warm clothes, hunter’s matches, a lighter, a mat, a thermal blanket, a map of the area, a compass, and other equipment that will help you survive in the mountains.
