Employees of the Transcarpathian customs office curbed the attempt to import to Ukraine two mobile phones "iPhone 7" not indicated in the customs declaration.
Yesterday, a Ukrainian returning from Germany chose the checkpoint "Uzhgorod" to enter Ukraine. In the "red corridor", the citizen filed a customs declaration, in which he indicated his passport data, the information about the vehicle and the presence of luggage – 4 bags.
During the customs control, the following items were found in the Ukrainian’s car: 3 phones "iPhone 7", 1 phone "Samsung" and electric violin "Yamaha" all used. Also, they found in the car two new phones "iPhone 7" in manufacturer’s packaging of the brand "Apple" and not activated. Their total value, according to the receipts, amounted to 1,738 Euro.
It should be noted that under Part 1 of Art. 374 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, any goods (excluding excise goods), the total invoice value of which does not exceed the equivalent of 500 euros and a total weight of which does not exceed 50 kg, being imported by citizens to the customs territory of Ukraine in hand luggage and / or baggage through checkpoints across the state border of Ukraine, shall not be subject to a written declaration and shall not be subject to customs duties.
Thus, the citizen of Ukraine failed to provide accurate and true information about the goods being moved across the customs border, that are not personal belongings and are subject to a written declaration. These actions have signs of violation of customs rules under Article 472 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, two mobile phones "iPhone 7" worth more than 50,000 UAH were seized.
