Are queues on the Ukraine-Slovak border on New Year’s holiday normal?

Recently, the waiting time on the Ukraine-Slovak border near Uzhgorod has increased from 3 to 6 hours.

According to the social activist, Uzhgorod resident Pavlo Biletsky, this trend was observed in December last year.

According to the Consul General of Slovakia in Uzhgorod Janka Buryanova, the border marks the beginning of the Schengen zone, which has its own principles and rules. Thus, Slovak police and customs officers have their work rules that must be followed.

According to the diplomat, the situation with queues has worsened in December, but it is attributed to the increased number of vehicles crossing the border. Mrs. Consul General assured that the Slovak party would do everything to improve the situation.
