We did not notice Anastasia at first. At first glance, she is an ordinary girl selling interesting festival merchandise: pendants, earrings and other jewelry. Our attention was attracted by her bird, which at first glance seemed artificial in its elegant gothic beauty.
A little owl was sitting very quietly on the edge of the stand of merchandise and only very rarely would blink its huge yellow eyes and at times would curiously turn its head. We could not help wondering at this beautiful bird, the size of a large cup. But we had no desire to pet it: a sharp beak and claws on furry legs did not promise anything good. Apparently, he was ready to defend his mistress with claws, beak, wings and with all the courage of a small but loyal heart.
Owlet is the name of this species of small owl that lives across the territory of Ukraine and surprisingly leads a day life.
The name of this bird of a young girl, who came to the "Uzhgorod palachinta" festival with her merchandise from Lviv, is Diy. In honor of the ancient Slavic god of heaven. The name of the 26-year-old owner of the unique pet is Anastasia. Although, all her friends call her Steve Morgan.
– Diy is still young, he is only three years old – Nastya says. – He has never seen wildlife, he was found as a chick, so he can not be released into the wild.He is not trained to hunt and nest, simply can not survive there. He loves me very much, thinks that I’m his mother and is always by my side. However, at home, and I live in Lviv in a private house, he flies freely wherever he wants, but comes back home to sleep, he knows where his home is. At home, I have two more owls: a long-eared owl and a barn owl. But they are big and very domestic. But Diy travels with me at festivals, helps me to trade. Do not mind that he is tied by the leg with a rope. It’s to prevent him from getting on the ground, because there are dogs here, and he is defenseless against them. It is safer for him. He gladly "kisses" me and sits on my hand. Look!
Nastya readily demonstrates the ability of her friend, although, after a passionate "kiss", she checks her lips in the a mirror – Diy kisses in full force and can unwillingly hurt his friend with the sharp beak.
It is evident that the Anastasia loves her bird. And wants others to love it too. Among her wares, there are two stands exclusively with owls. Here, there are pendants, earrings and key chains. Owls and owlets.
