On December 17, the first solo concert of the project of keyboardist and composer Anton Degtyarev and guitarist Volodymyr Babushkin will take place in Kyiv club Mezzanine.
"We make music for nonexistent movies. Mostly, psychological dramas with elements of mystery. Or accompaniment for landscapes of Ukrainian mountains and steppes", – Anton Degtyarev said.
Ptakh_Jung presented their first full concert program. Anton Degtyarev says that before that the band has played mostly outdoor concerts and in small venues. They have also taken part in several festivals such as Jazz Koktebel and PortoFranko Gogol Fest. But they have never performed in this format.
The musicians will present tracks created since April 2016 and also a new piece that has not yet been performed live. Their concert will be accompanied by a feature-length video set by Svitlana Reinish known as VJ Reinish.
"This music is not for everyone, – the director of Ptakh_Jung Yevhenia Ustinova said. – These are not songs that you can sing along to, it’s not a pleasant background music, which obliges to nothing, it’s not even high-brow underground experiments and it’s not a dance music, but it’s definitely a drive. The other kind of drive. You just sink into this music, like into water, a maze, the creator’s mind, and it carries you."
