On September 26 in the regional center of Transcarpathia an annual Job Fair, organized by Uzhgorod city employment center with the assistance of Uzhgorod city hall and employers’ organizations, took place. The fair was held in the Center (Novak str., 45).
At the fair the visitors had an opportunity to learn about current jobs at city enterprises, working conditions, the possibility of retraining. And also about special offers of enterprises. Employers, in turn, were able to communicate directly with Uzhgorod residents planning to find a new job.
Within 8 months of this year 1284 persons, including 677 women were employed for vacant and new jobs. 28 Uzhgorod residents received lump sum grants to start their own business.
"He who wants to find a job, will find it. Sitting at home and complaining about the world is useless. If you search well, with the assistance of the Employment center and similar job fairs, then you can find a decent job in Uzhgorod", – assured the director of the city employment center Serhiy Oleksiyuk during the thematic "round table".
Uzhgorod is traditionally dominated by the demand for employees of working professions. As of September the Employment Center has the information about the availability of 138 vacancies in 15 enterprises for employment of persons with disabilities (mainly on the railroad).
Between January and August 2544 new jobs were created in the city.
The Job fair was attended by over 20 companies of Uzhgorod and Uzhgorod district, who presented their jobs and working conditions. In addition, they provided information about the professions, which are needed today with regard to the prospects for economic development. Also the fair was visited by over 1500 job seekers – unemployed, students, the city residents. Employers and job seekers were able to communicate directly at the fair, people could tell potential supervisors about themselves not "on paper" , but personally.
