Ambassador of Ukraine: the head of the Hungarian community of Romania was denied entry to Ukraine, motives were not specified

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Romania Oleksandr Bankov commented on the situation with the head of the Hungarian community in Romania:

"A few hours ago, I found out from facebook that the head of the Democratic Union of Hungarians of Romania, Mr Kelemen Hunor, was not allowed to enter Ukraine this morning.

In this unpleasant but absolutely obvious situation, I would like to make some clarifications:

1. Mr. Kelemen Hunor was banned from entering the territory of Ukraine on 03.11.2017. Since then, he has already tried to enter Ukraine with a Hungarian passport and he was denied, so he definitely knew about the decision taken by the Ukrainian party.

2. And this time, according to the Ukrainian legislation, Mr. Kelemen Hunor was given a notice of denial in entry to Ukraine, which he signed. It is true that the notice does not specify motives, but this practice is common for all European states.

And, of course, I am open and will be happy to provide Mr. Hunor with any additional explanation."

Recall that today, in the morning, the leader of the Romanian Hungarian Democratic Union (RMDSZ), Hunor Kelemen, who was going to Uzhgorod to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Society of Hungarian Culture of Transcarpathia (KMKSZ), was not allowed into Ukraine.
