Almost 70 thousand Transcarpathians have had flu and URTI

According to operational data, since the beginning of the epidemiologic season (28.09.2015 – 03.02.2016), 69129 flu and URTI patients have been registered in Transcarpathia. This means that 5.5% of the total population had the diseases. 62.2% of the all the patients are children up to 17 years old. Uzhhorod and the Uzhhorod district show the highest index of the ill, where 14.8% and 8.4% of the population had upper respiratory tract infection and the flu. The lowest index was registered in the Rakhiv district (1.9%) and the Tiachevo district (2.8%).

In all, since the beginning of the epidemiologic season, 3087 people (4.5% of all patients) have been hospitalised with provisional diagnosis of flu and upper respiratory tract infection. 77.2% of the patients are children up to 17 years old.

During the fourth week of 2016, the flu index have exceeded the epidemiologic threshold in 11 districts of the region, in Uzhhorod and Mukachevo; over 50% in 10 districts.

According to operational data, since the beginning of the epidemiologic season, 3275 persons (0.26% of the total population) have been vaccinated. Among the vaccinated, 34.96% are children up to 17 years old. The vaccination have been financed by the regional and local budgets.
