Almost 23.5 thousand packs of cigarettes were found in boards (VIDEO)

Yesterday, July 23, 2016, employees of the Transcarpathian customs office, together with border guards, the Security Service of Ukraine and the tax police, prevented an attempt of smuggling a significant amount of tobacco products from Ukraine.

Thus, a truck "DAF" with a semi-trailer driven by a citizen of Ukraine arrived at the customs control area of the customs post "Uzhgorod" of the Transcarpathian customs office for departure from Ukraine.

According to the submitted shipping documents, he was exporting across the customs border of Ukraine "edged softwood / spruce" weighing over 18 tons and with a total cost of 3,815 Euro. The sender of the goods was an entity in Transcarpathian region, and the receiver – a Czech company.

When performing an in-depth customs inspection of the goods in the vehicle, they found hidden 23,400 packs of cigarettes "FEST" made in Belarus without excise stamps of Ukraine. The cigarettes were in specially manufactured caches – sides of wooden boards. The recesses were inside the boards by cutting out rectangular niches. On top, niches were tightly closed with wooden rails.

These actions contain signs of violation of customs rules, namely the transportation of goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control, using specially manufactured caches, under Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, the cigarettes and lumber were seized.
