Again garbage: Botanichny lane (PHOTOS)

People are tired to walk the city streets, parks, beaches and step over all sorts of rubbish. It floats even in the Uzh river… This time our attention was attracted not to the main street, and not even the river itself, but the neighboring lane.

Walking to the river Uzh, on Botanichna embankment, down the stairs near the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic, often you can see bottles, toilet and other kinds of paper, and it smell like in public restroom.   Turn to inconspicuous Botanichny lane that leads to Olbracht street. There, for more than a month we have been seeing the same scene: a big pile of branches, papers, bottles and other trash.

Once, Uzhgorod youth used to arrange gatherings there (on the roof of the so-called garage). From there, you could see the sunset, the river, Pravoslavna embankment. Now it’s quiet there, and only a pile of garbage draws the attention. 

Perhaps, whoever cut the branches is waiting until they thoroughly dry out, to make it easier to carry away. Or they just do not care about the debris. But oftentimes, tourists and the city residents going down from the castle take this path to shorten the way to the river, and the pile of garbage does not improve their impression about our city.
