As part of the "Bastion" operation, employees of the Transcarpathian Customs, as a result of the SFS databases monitoring, identified high risk of violation of customs legislation during the import of a vehicle into Ukraine’s customs territory by a citizen of Ukraine.
On June 19, 2019, the Ukrainian was importing through the customs post "Luzhanka" a car "Volkswagen Caddy" made in 2013.
For customs clearance, the citizen filed an invoice, according to which the price of the car was 4,500 euros. During the customs inspection, the customs officers found inside the vehicle an invoice, according to which the citizen had purchased the "Volkswagen Caddy" for 10 thousand euros. This was confirmed by the export declaration and information received from the customs authorities of Hungary.
For submission of documents containing false information, a report on violation of customs rules was drawn up against the citizen of Ukraine under Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. The vehicle costing 318,800 UAH was seized and sent to the warehouse of the customs office until the court decision.
