According to her, the rescue service received a report of a fire in a truck at about 7 p.m. It happened on the border of Volovets and Svalyava districts. The driver was driving from Mukachevo towards the town of Stryi, Lviv region, and saw smoke coming from under the hood. The man stopped and started extinguishing the fire with a fire extinguisher. He was helped by two truckers, who also stopped at the roadside.
"Firefighters of the fire and rescue units of the village of Nyzhni Vorota and the town Volovets arrived at the scene. Firefighters managed to contain the fire at 19:25. After another 10 minutes, at 19:35, the fire was completely put out" – the spokesperson said.
The fire damaged the engine compartment and the driver’s personal belongings. The amount of damage and the cause of the fire are being established.
