The woman, who beat his own mother to death and then tried to hide this fact, was detained by the police. Investigators of Velyky Berezny district together with colleagues from the regional department and under procedural control of the District Prosecutor’s Office notified her that she is suspected. The court imposed on her a pretrial restraint in the form of detention.
On Wednesday, April 12, doctors called Velyky Berezny police department and reported about the death of a woman in the village of Zabrid. Doctors were called at the scene by the daughter of the deceased, who, as it was found out the next day, actually was involved in the death of her mother. Since there were no obvious signs of violence on the body of the victim, the 48-year-old daughter decided to hide from the police the fact that she had beaten her mother, after which she died.
During the preliminary investigation the police found out all the circumstances of the incident – on the day of death, being at home, the 67-year-old victim had a fight with her daughter. After a verbal altercation, the woman inflicted her mother several blows to the head, after which the victim went to bed to rest. A few hours later, her daughter took a wooden stick and hit the mother with it several times to the head and body. Experts confirmed that these blows were fatal to the victim.
The police exposed the criminal intent of the woman and notified her that she is suspected of a criminal offense under Part 2 of Art.121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that is grievous bodily harm that caused the death of the victim.
This crime is punishable by imprisonment for a term of seven to ten years.
