A Transcarpathian was sentenced to three years in prison for robbery and larceny

Transcarpathian prosecution to oversee the observance of laws in the transport sector together with police departments take measures to prevent theft of citizens’ property.
 Thus, according to the Transcarpathian prosecutor to oversee the observance of laws in the field of transport Igor Syekhin, January 15 this year,  citizen B. at the exit from the commuter rail station on H. Kyrpa square in Uzhgorod while being intoxicated, acting openly, deliberately, with selfish motives, without violence or threats of violence, suddenly snatched from the inside pocket of the jacket of the citizen B. a certificate of a citizen residing in the mountain settlement (similar in appearance to the pensioner certificate), which contained money, then threw the certificate out, and appropriated the money. However, while trying to escape he was detained by transport police.
Transcarpathian prosecution to oversee the observance of laws in the field of transport have given proper legal assessment of citizen B’s actions and supported state prosecution in this case. Thus, on October 22, the Uzhgorod district court convicted citizen B. under Part 1 of Art. 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (robbery – open theft of other person’s property) and sentenced him to 3 years of imprisonment. However, given the sincere repentance, active assistance in uncovering the crime, and on the basis of Art. 75, 76 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the convict shall be released from serving his sentence if he does not commit a new offense during one year of probation – informed the press service of the Prosecutor of the Transcarpathian region.
